Synopsis:

My Opinion:

First let me say, I loved this book so much. I think this is now one of my favourite series. I preferred this book ever so slightly more than the first book. 

Compared to the first book I didn’t think this book was slow in any parts and I really enjoyed the character development throughout this story. I liked learning more and more about each character, this made me like them even more than I already did. I went through so many emotions in this book, to a point I even cried and as I get told I don’t have emotions, this is a really big thing for a book to do to me. 

I have been feeling like I am not connecting to book in ways I am meant to and this book and series made me feel like way again. 

Something I thought was really well done in this book compared to other YA books I have read in the past is the way the romance is dealt with. I liked the fact that I personally felt like the relationship between Jasper and Wylan is focused on more than any other relationship in the book. I liked how each individual relationship was dealt with differently and each relationship was different. I thought this was more like the ‘real life’ young adult relationships, unlike some books you can read where every relationship is lovey Dovey. I really enjoyed the bond between all the characters in the group and the way they looked out for each other. 

The only character I didn’t really bond with was Jaspers father. I don’t believe a father would act the way that he did but saying that I did understand why he did it for the story. 

I think the ending was the perfect way to end the story, I really want more from Kaz and the team. 

I can’t wait to try more by Leigh Bardugo and I will be picking more of her books up in the future.
