Weekly Update

2020, updates

Hey readers…

Just thought I would do a weekly update on the books I have finished recently and the books I am currently reading. I am also going to link the blog posts I have wrote this week. Most of the reviews for these books will be up midway through November due to my backlog of reviews.

Books I have finished

I have finished three books this week. The first one was Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson. I gave this one 5 stars, I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed getting to know the characters more and I immediately wanted to pick up Oathbringer before I did this I decided to read Edgedancer. My review for this will be up November 11th

The second book I finished was The Haunting of Brynn Wilder by Wendy Webb. This wasn’t what I expected but it was still a good read. I gave this 4 stars and again the review will be up November 18th.

The last book I finished this week was Edgedancer by Brandon Sanderson. This was a quick little read that broke up WOR and Oathbringer that gave a little more information on a character you briefly see in WOR. I will have the review on my blog for this on November 16th and I gave it 4 stars.

Books I am currently reading

I am currently reading Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson, I am reading this in physical and audio book. I am roughly 25% into this and I am enjoying it a lot. I am enjoying the back story we are now getting for Dalinar.

I have also started The Institute by Stephen King, I am not that far into this one and I am reading it on my Kindle. Because I am not that far into it I don’t yet have an opinion of the plot.

Blog Posts

I have two blog posts up on my blog this week.

Welcome to WWW Wednesday! hosted by Sam@Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses. Please, take some time to visit the other participants and see what others are reading. So, let’s get to it!

The three Ws are: What are you currently reading? What have you finished reading? What will you read next?

What are you currently reading?

51idcv5auplI am currently reading Perfectly Preventable Deaths by Deirdre Sullivan. I am not far into it at the moment, so I don’t really have an opinion of the story just yet.

The story so far is about a set of twins who have moved to Galway to live with their mum’s new husband. I am interested to see where this goes.

What have you finished reading?

I have recently finished two books the first being A Discovery of Witches by Deborah HarknessI really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to get the next ones in the series. I just need to get through the N.E.W.T.s Readathon first. This book was a really enjoyable Vampire and Witch story. You can read more of my thoughts in my review, linked above.

The next book I finished was Tangleweed and Brine by Deirdre Sullivan. I really enjoyed the dark retellings of these fairytales. My review for this book will be up on Friday 16th August.

What will you read next?

61Fnc-j9m2L._SX324_BO1,204,203,200_The next book I plan on reading is The Word for World is Foret by Ursula K. Le Guin. This will be my first book by her and I am looking forward to it after hearing great things about her writing.

Weekend update..

2019, weekend updates

Hey Readers

It is that time again for my weekend update.

I am going on a little holiday to Wales, coming back Monday. It’s a short break away with a few friends. I obviously can’t take too much with me with regards to books.

I am taking The City of Brass which I am slowly making my way through and I am taking my kindle with me, which I need to start something on.

I am hoping I can practice some photography out there as that’s something I really want to get better at.

I will post little updates on my Instagram stories (hopefully) throughout the weekend, so you can go over there for a sneak peek at what I am doing.

I am over at i_heart_reading

I hope you have a lovely weekend. Let me know in the comments what you are doing this weekend.

Weekend updates

2019, NetGallery, reading, updates

Hey Readers.

It is that time of the week again, where I give an update on my weekend plans.

From my last updates, I have finished reading Uprooted and Daughter of the forest by Juliet Marillier. I did discuss these in my WWW Wednesday post.

I am currently reading Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb, which is a re-read for me so I can continue with the series. I wont to finish this by the beginning of next week.

I have also started Waiting for Fitz by Spencer Hyde, this was received via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. So far I am enjoying it. This is about Addie who suffers from OCD and Fitz who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia. The story starts with them meeting in a psychiatric ward. This is as far as I have gotten in the story. I am enjoying it, it is a little bit repetitive, with regards to describing Addie’s OCD rituals. We get a rundown of what she goes through at the beginning and then we end up getting a similar but smaller run down each time a ritual occurs.

I am not sure how I am feeling about this book at the moment I am 25% into it.

I have started using an app called Bookly, so far I am really enjoying it and it is really helping me keep a tab on my reading and my page count for the day.

I am going to do a review of this once I have used it a little more, so keep an eye out for that.

Life plans

Today is the Eurovision song contest, so I am getting some reading and house tidying done, then it’s off to a friends house for a Eurovision get together.

I will be taking my Kindle with me to possibly get some reading done.

what are you plans for this weekend? Let me know in the comments below.
