October Wrapup

2020, wrap up

Hey readers…

Here is my wrap up for the month of October, in the month of October I have finished 6 books. I am still reading Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson and The Institute by Stephen King. I have read two 3 star book, two 4 star book and two 5 star books.

I’m a Therapist and my patient is going to be the next school shooter by Dr. Harper

I gave this book a 3 stars and thought it was an told in an interesting concept of a therapist and the patient files of 6 different patients, between the cases there was also an underlying plot. It was a quick read for me. My review will be up on the 4th November.

Killing for company: Case of Dennis Nilsen by Brian Masters

This book I read on my kindle,it is a non-fiction documenting the life of Dennis Nilsen, a serial killer from the UK. This was an interesting book and delved into his and his family background. I thought it was really well done and extremely in depth. I gave this book 3 stars and the review for this will be up towards the end of November.

The Other People by C.J.Tudor

I read this book on my Kindle, it is my first C. J. Tudor book and I really enjoyed it, this was one of the books I gave 5 stars this month. I thought it was such and intriguing plot and was done in such an fascinating way. I will definitely be reading something by this author again and was exactly what I needed this month. My review for this will be up on the 9th November.

Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson

Words of Radiance, there isn’t much more I can say, any book I read by Brandon Sanderson is either a high 4 star or a 5 star. This is the second book in the Stormlight Archive series. I am trying to get them all read before Rhythm of War comes out midway through November. I gave this one a 5 stars and my review will be up on 11th November.

Edgedancer by Brandon Sanderson

before I jumped into Oathbringer I read the novella about a character Lift from the Stormlight Archive Series. I did enjoy this one. It does have mixed reviews, not many people like the character Lift as she is a little younger than other characters in the series, but I really like the break of such a action packed adult filled story to read a little from her eyes. My review for Edge dancer will be up on the 16th November. I gave this book a 4 star.

The Haunting of Brynn Wilder by Wendy Webb

I read this book on my Kindle, I picked it up from kindle firsts this book is due to be released on November 1st. My review will be up on the day of release. It was a really interesting read. I wasn’t expecting what was to come in the story. It was creepy and had some strange events happen. I really liked this book and will look into more by this author. I gave the book 4 stars.

What books have you read in the month of October, let me know your thoughts on any of the books I finished this month if you have read them.

Book Haul

2020, Book Haul

Hey readers…

I have recently been purchasing a few books on my kindle rather than physical books due to the amount of space available in my current house. This book haul is from August to October, let me know if you have read any of these. I will link the goodreads page to the synopsis in the title of each book. Most of these books I have forgotten the synopsis of.

Jade City by Fonda Lee

I bought this book at the end of August after seeing it in a book haul on youtube – I can’t remember which booktuber – at the time I thought it would be something I would be extremely interested in and I am hoping to get to this soon.

The Black Prism by Brent Weeks

I have read one book before from Brent Weeks and I flew through the book, the one I read was The Way of Shadows – here is my review for this book.

I have been looking at this book for a while in my local waterstones and I just hadn’t picked it up. I saw it was on sale for kindle and snatched it up right away.

The Skull Throne by Peter V. Brett

This is the fourth book in The Demon Cycle series. I have read the first book and I really enjoyed following the main character – I don’t currently have a review for the first book I am planning on re-reading it in the next few months.

The Institute by Stephen King

I think this will be the next book I am going to pick up after finishing my latest Ebook read. I have liked the books I have read of Stephen Kings and I am hoping this is also going to be something I enjoy as well.

The Binding by Bridget Collins

This is a book I have seen in quite a few places, it isn’t something I usually go and grab when I am picking books I want to read but I do like historical fiction which if I remember rightly is what this book is. I have seen lots of good things about it and looks forward to giving it ago.

Killing for Company: the case of Dennis Nilsen by Brian Masters

This is a non-fiction book about a serial killer from the UK. Dennis Nilsen in my opinion is an extremely awful man. I have watched numerous programs on him but didn’t know much about him as a person before he “became” a serial killer. I have recently finished this and will have a review up for it at some point this month.

The Haunting of Brynn Wilder by Wendy Webb

This book is due to be released on November 1st and I was lucky enough to get a copy on Kindle First for October. I have just finished this book and I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would, it did have more romance in than I expected but it was done in a really good way. The ending surprised me and I did really like it. I will have a review up on the day of release so look out for that.

The Other People by C.J.Tudor

I have already read this one and I really enjoyed it. I picked it up as the synopsis grabbed my attention. I gave this 5 stars and my review will be up within the next month. I would recommend this to everyone and was the perfect book for an october read.

Rattle by Fiona Cummins

I bought this book because of the first two lines in the synopsis.

A serial killer to chill your bones

A psychopath more frightening than Hannibal Lecter.

I am hoping this lives up to my personal expectations for this. I haven’t heard of this book before but it seemed to have relatively good reviews on Goodreads.

The forgetting Moon by Brian Lee Durfee

This book is something I picked up solely on the fact that a booktuber made me do it. I was watching Alex Nieves recently book haul and he mentioned this author and this book, it sounded really good so I jumped straight onto Amazon and purchased it. I am hoping I like it and that I will get to it soon.

This is everything I have bought in the months of August through to October, no doubt there will be more by the end of the month.

Have you read any of these books let me know what you thought in the comment section below
