August Wrapup

2020, Warp up

Hey Readers….

I have had a mixed month for reading this month, I have finished 4 books this month and put down 2 books.

I have put these two books down but this isn’t because I hated them, it was because at this time these just weren’t the books I wanted to read.

The Burning Chambers by Kate Mosse was a very religious based book and even though it was an interesting book I just wasn’t something I wanted at the time I picked this book up.

The City we Became by N.K. Jemisin, at the beginning of the book I was slightly confused but it has interested me and I do want to see what the whole plot is about. I will get back to this by the end of the year but just not this month

I have really enjoyed everything I have read this month, I finished The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty on audiobook. This one is a re-read for me and I enjoyed it more than the first time I read it.

The Traitor’s Blade by Sebastien De Castell, this was read as an ebook, for an online read along and I am so glad I dived into it as it was a series I had been looking at for a while and just never picked up.

If It Bleeds by Stephen King is the first set of short stories I have read by Stephen King and I really liked them, there was one story I wasn’t too sure about but apart from that I felt they were the correct length for each story and the right amount of creepy and thought provoking.

Fool Moon by Jim Butcher is the 2nd book in the Dresden files series and I enjoyed this so much. This series is becoming a favourite of mine and I can’t wait to carry on with a book a month and dive further in the series with Harry Dresden.

Reviews for all these books will be coming in the next couple of weeks so make sure you keep your eye out for them.

What did you read this month? let me know in the comments below.

August TBR

2020, TBR

Hey Readers…

This is my TBR for the month of August. Two of these will be read via audiobook and one will be an ebook. All the main headings for each book will link to the Goodreads page for the synopsis

The Queen of Innis Lear by Tessa Gratton

I will be reading this through audiobook on Scribd. I have had this on my tbr for a little while. I picked this one out my TBR jar so it is a must read for this month

The Burning Chambers by Kate Mosse

This book I bought because I read The Taxidermist’s Daughter and really enjoyed it. I hope I enjoy this one just as much.

The City We Became by N K Jemisin

This one I am reading for an online book club. I hope I like this, I have tried to read The Fifth Season by N. K. Jemisin before and I didn’t quite gel with it.

If It Bleeds by Stephen King

I can’t wait to jump into this one and see how I get on with these stories. Stephen King is always hit and miss for me. I recently read The Stand and I really enjoyed it.

The City of Brass by S. A. Chakraborty

This is a re-read for me. I want to carry on with the rest of the series and would like to re-read this before I do. I will be reading this on audiobook from Audible. I gave this 4 stars on my first read. Here is my review.

Traitor’s Blade by Sebastien De Castell

This is the book I am reading as an ebook. I am reading this for an online read along. I have heard lots about this author and his book so I am looking forward to starting this series.

Have you read any of these? Let me know in the comments below.

-Happy reading

August TBR

2017, blog, TBR

Well Well Well..

Here I am again making a TBR I am probably not going to stick to but never mind.

FullSizeRender 4

Three of the books I am either currently reading and three are books I want to get too.

The War of the Dwarves by Markus Heitz

I have been reading this book since last month but I didn’t get to read that much last month so I am currently 39% into this book. I am really enjoying it so far and this series may become one of my favourite series.

The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan

This book.. THIS BOOK….

what can I say about this book. I have tried to read this twice already and haven’t picked it up for around 6 months if not more. Now its not like I didn’t enjoy it because I really did and I still think about this book and remember whats happened still to this day. I just distracted by other things and I have the entire series that I was given by someone moving to a different country so I would really like to get to them all. I am really hoping I finish this book this month even if I have to start it all over again.

A Brief History of Time by Yuval Noah Harari

I started this a few months ago but again I have picked it up either due to slumps, no time or being distracted by other books I have decided to read. I am again hoping I can finish this book before the end of the month.

Now onto the books I would like to get too…

The Things they Carried by Tim O’Brien

I found this book by chance along with the next book I am going to mention by Tim O’Brien whilst browsing through amazon for books I might to read. These are about the Vietnam war and how it has effected America. Tim O’Brien was in the war so this coming from a pretty reliable point of view

More about The Things they Carried here.

If I Die In a Combat Zone by Tim O’Brien

This is another book I found by the same author as the book mentioned above. It is again about the Vietnam war. you can find more about this book here.

Proxima by Stephen Baxter

I don’t know anything about this but it has been on my TBR pile forever and I don’t think I want to know anything about this book.

If you would like to know about this book you can find it here.

I will be keeping everyone up to date with how I am getting on with this TBR selection

Has anyone read any of the books I have mentioned, what did you think?
