March TBR

2020, TBR

Hey Readers…

I have 7 books on my March TBR. I have three picked from my TBR jar and three books I wanted to pick up. I have one book I started in February but I put it down so I hope to start again, possibly via audiobook.

I picked Blackhouse by Stephen King, Apple Tree Yard by Louise Doughty and And I Darken by Kiersten White out of my TBR jar. I have wanted to read all three of these for a long time. The one I am least looking forward to is Black House, I still remember The Talisman but this book intimidates me massively.

Heart Stream by Tom Pollock and The Upside of Falling by Alex Light are two books out of #thebookboxclub boxes. I really want to get through my books I get in these. I have enjoyed them so far out of the ones I have read. I will be doing a page on here with all my book box club reviews.

The one I am looking forward to reading the most is The Five – The untold lives of the women killed by Jack the Ripper by Hallie Rubenhold. I have been wanting to read this since it was released and it will be the first book I am reading this month.

The one book I am going to carry on reading via audiobook is The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. I am hoping that I will get into it more by reading it this way.

The last book which I will finish in March and is a carryover from February so isn’t on my March TBR is The Stand by Stephen King, I have been listening to this via audiobook and physically reading it. I am enjoying it quite a bit at the moment. Its currently the best Stephen King book I have read.

What is on your TBR for the month of March? Let me know in the comments below.

Happy Reading

February TBR

2020, February, TBR

Hey Guys…

I thought I would let you guys know my partial TBR for the month of February. My target for this month is 6 books but I only have 3 on my TBR at the moment.

The first one on my list is Skyward by Brandon Sanderson. I love all of Sanderson’s books and I have been meaning to read this one since it came out. I am reading this with people over on the Byzans app in a month-long read along

The next book I am reading in February is The Lie of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. This book has been on my TBR for the longest time and I am so glad to finally get around to this. This is another book I am reading on the Byzans app in a month-long read along.

The last book I have on my TBR for this month is Harley Merlin and the Secret Coven by Bella Forrest. This one appeared as an advert on my Kindle and is available through Kindle Unlimited so I thought I would give it a try, so far I am enjoying it.

Hogwarts House Battle TBR

2019, TBR

Hey Readers…

This month I am taking part in the Hogwarts House Battles readathon in September. This is a month-long readathon created by Katie

The basics of the readathon are simple. Every page you read in September is 1 point for your team. If you complete a challenge you get an extra 50 points. There is also a group book you can read but as I don’t own this one I will not be taking part.

Here is my TBR for this readathon. I am trying to read 12 books in the month of September, which is a lot more than I usually read in a month, so wish me to luck *hides away till September ends*

Read a recommendation from a friend &&
Read a genre you wouldn’t usually pick up

As I don’t have any friends who read, I asked my husband to pick a book for this one. He doesn’t really read either but he has a selection of books he picks up occasionally.

71gnagx0dglHe suggested I read Feed the Beast by Jon Parkin for prompts above. This is something he had on his reading shelf and it is also something I wouldn’t pick up myself. I have read autobiography type books but I wouldn’t ever pick up one by a footballer.

Only read this book in public

61DzTfwi7fL._SX317_BO1,204,203,200_The next book is one I can only read in public. I decided on reading Eric by Terry Pratchett

Read a book with a number in the title &&
Read a book with an animal on the cover

I have added another Terry Pratchett book to my TBR. This was one of three books on my TBR which contained and number and had an animal on the cover as well. I don’t seem to have many books with animals on the cover.

Read a new-to-you book51amusnndol

I choose a book which I have had on my TBR for a few months, but it is still new to me as I don’t know what it is about and I really want to read it this month.

Read a book you previously put down

This is something I only recently put down, I put it down in August. I put this one down as it wasn’t a book that I could read when everything was going on around me, whilst I was on a small weekend break. Everything was distracting me so I couldn’t concentrate on the characters or the plot.

200px-three_gardens_of_the_moonI am now going to try and read this as a type of buddy/group read to see if I can get through it a little better than the first time around. This book was given to me so I really want to give it a good try before abandoning it.

Read a predicted 5 star read &&
Read your most anticipated book

61rgrrlxtel._sx316_bo1204203200_I picked up these series as my husband picked up the 1st book of the 2nd series without realizing it was a follow on series and its the best choice I have made in a long time. I love this series and I recommend fantasy readers to give this a try.

Read a book that means a lot to you

featherboy-nickysingerI have had this book since I was around 11. I will not let it go.

Read a book from another generation

The next one I choose as it was originally published for in the UK in 1983. As I was born in 1991 this would be a different generation for me to read

Read a hyped book

I immediately thought of this book as soon as I saw the challenge, so this had to go on my TBR 61kythmpzvl._sx325_bo1204203200_

Read a Classic novel61gwml-lnwl

I only have a couple of classics on my shelves that I would consider for a readathon.

Read the last book you bought

I purchased this book last with another 3 books, but as this one was the last in my cart, I will be adding this to my TBR. 51ss9pxl5ul._sx328_bo1204203200_

That is the last of my Hogwarts House Battle readathon TBR. Are you taking part in this readathon, if you are, please leave a comment or leave a link to your TBR’s in the comments box below!

July TBR

2019, July, TBR

Hey Readers..

I didn’t really get much read in the month of June, but I do have a TBR of books I want to get read in the month of July.

I have started two of these book already this month and would like to get them finished soon. first I would like to finish is Chernobyl: History of a Tragedy by Serhii Plokhy. I am really enjoying it and finding it extremely interesting. I am currently 55% into this at the moment

I would also like to finish Split Second by David Baldacci. I am around 16% into this book so far. It is the fast paced book I enjoy reading.

I am also hoping to read Valiant by Holly Black, I am reading this for the FaerieAThon. This is happening from July 8th – July 12th.

The last book I have on my TBR is Circe by Madeline Miller, this is the July book for MythTakeReads . I have been meaning to read this for a while and now I finally have the excuse to read it.

what books are you reading in the month of July. Let me know in the comments below.
