Christmas Nespresso Day 1

2019, advent

Well.. let’s start with where I have been. I managed to get myself in such a reading slump and blog slump by putting to much pressure on myself.

So I thought I’d try something fun. Giving my opinions on my Nespresso advent calendar options.

Day 1. Roma

Intensity is an 8. This coffee is full and balanced. I made this as a flat white using lactose free milk and 1 sugar as I find this helps the bitterness of the coffee for me personally

I actually really enjoyed this coffee and it is would be something I would buy more of these coffees again.

I’d rate this a 7/10

My thoughts

I have loved this book ever since I first read it when I was younger. I always read this book as a comfort book.

This book deals with death and grief and does it in a really good way. I think all the topics are dealt with in a sensitive but thoughtful way, which really put some understanding into these emotions, I found this really helpful when I was younger.

This book is middle grade. The main character goes from being a shy little boy to a maturer boy who has a little more understanding of life and death. He stands up to the people who do not believe in him, including family members.

I am could never un-haul this book. Ever!  I will definitely be letting my future children (if I have any) read this book as it is one which has stuck by me for years.

Have you read this book? if you have what were your thoughts on it?

Why I blog

2019, blogtober

Hey Readers…

I am not sure how to start this discussion post, but I thought I would do a little something explaining why I blog.

I first started this blog in 2016 but interest in 2017/2018. As a matter of fact, I lost interest in reading during 2017/2018, mainly due to life but also because I was trying to keep up with the latest hyped books, I had to try and have them all.

I have now learnt not to try and keep up with what everyone is doing and to do my own thing.

I don’t have friends who read books so for me starting a blog was a way to get my thoughts out to people who like reading also. I wanted a safe place for me to discuss books and bookish things. I also want to make friends with people who have the same interests as me.

Sometimes I do get anxious that what I am doing isn’t good but I appreciate every single person who follows my blog & likes or comments on my blog whenever I post.

what are the reasons you blog? Let me know in the comments

My GoodReads TBR

2019, blogtober

Hey readers…

Just a quick post today and a little change of plan. I have had a very hectic day today and haven’t had time to write the post I had planned. I will try and get that post, posted on another day.

I thought I would just show you the books on my GoodReads TBR, maybe you could help me pick the books I should get to as soon as possible.

10

I do own most of these books so I can start them, but I am equally interested in reading each and every one.

Which books do you think I should get to before the end of the year?

My thoughts

This book is a short and sweet read, as always with Terry Pratchett, his stories are always quick and fun to read.

I really enjoyed the story. Death is my favourite character. I always find the stories with him in extremely funny.

The Discworld series is a vast and extremely interesting world and Pratchett does a lot of world-building throughout all books in the series and adds more and more.

This is one of my favourite series and Terry Pratchett is one of my favourite authors.

Have you read any books in this series? If so what did you think about it?
