Synopsis
It’s been almost ten years since Nathan Garrett woke on a cold warehouse floor with nothing but a gun, a sword, and no idea of who he was or how he got there.
His only clue … a piece of paper with his name on it. Since then, he’s discovered he’s a powerful sorcerer and has used his abilities to work as a thief for hire.
But he’s never stopped hunting for his true identity, and those who erased his memory have never stopped hunting for him.
When the barrier holding his past captive begins to crumble, Nathan swears to protect a young girl who is key to his enemy’s plans. But with his enemies closing in, and everyone he cares about becoming a target for their wrath, Nathan is forced to choose between the life he’s built for himself and the one buried deep inside him.

My thoughts
Sometimes I got so used to not answering questions about my life, or forming lies about it, that I forget about asking others
There was so much going on within these books but I personally thought everything flowed quite well throughout. In this book you are following two times lines, London in the present day and France in 1414.
I thought the character development for Nate was there but only slightly, I have a feeling this could grow a lot more in the future books, he is a character that does try his best to do right by the people he loves/cares for.
I found when I was reading this book I was flying through pages and I was getting submerged in the story.
I will say though, this book mentions a lot of gore and in depth detail on injuries suffered by people, who have been killed or tortured.
I liked the link with Mythology in the plot and how the author has tried to weave this into the storyline.
This book was not perfect and there were things I didn’t like about a few characters. Achilles was a character that was a disgusting person, he would threaten people in horrific ways to get a rise out of Nate.
I will be picking up the 2nd book in the series, and see how it goes.
-Happy Reading
