At each abandoned crime scene there’s a hidden clue: a tiny metal cog, almost invisible to the naked eye. Someone is sending Detective Sam Berger a message, someone who knows that only he will understand the cryptic trail.
When another teenaged girl disappears without a trace, Sam must convince his superiors that they’re dealing with a serial killer. As the police continue the hunt to find the latest victim, Sam is forced to unearth long-buried personal demons. He has no choice if he is to understand the killer’s darkly personal message before time runs out.

My Thoughts

This book was a chance pick up for my, I received the second book as a gift from my step mum as she won the book in a giveaway. I am really glad I decided to pick up the first book.

The plot was intriguing, the plot was not obvious at first, but when it started to be explained everything came together. I wasn’t too sure of the main character and I want to see where his character goes throughout the books. Molly Blom was the character I gelled with a little more and felt the story definitely intrigued me more once Sam Berger meets her.

I liked the way the two worked together in the second half of the story. I want to see where this story goes and how the series develops.

I really do enjoy finding authors I really enjoy.
