January Wrapup

Hey Guys…

Today I am going to tell you about the books I read in January, this month I read 7 books and DNF’ed one book.

Let’s start with the book I DNF.

The Priory of the Orange Tree

9781408883464

This book just was not for me. I really couldn’t get into the story at all. I did enjoy the chapters with Tané, but when the story carried on and moved away from her chapters I just wasn’t interested in anything that was happening.

I really wanted to like this book, this is the second time I have tried to read this book, I did manage to get a bit further in the book this time, unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be.

The Rest Falls Away by Colleen Gleason

51jsjxl02b8l._sx326_bo1204203200_This is the first book in the Gardella Vampire Hunter series. I really enjoyed this book, this one is a re-read for me and I still enjoyed it this time around as I did the first time I read it. I gave this book 4 stars, You can read my full review here.

The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski

bj83-square-400This is the first book of short stories in The Witcher series. I started this immediately after finishing the Netflix series, which I highly recommend. I also highly recommend this book. I can’t wait to carry on reading more about The Witcher. I gave this book 5 stars, You can read my full review here.

Rises the Night by Colleen Gleason

rises-the-night-kindleThis is the 2nd book in the Gardella Vampire Hunter series. I enjoyed this book and it certainly through some surprises my way as I was reading it. I really want to carry on with the rest of the series throughout 2020. I gave this book 4 stars and you can read my full review here.

In The Dark by Loreth Anne White

44527037._sy475_This was a surprising book for me, I had heard nothing about it but I saw it on amazon and decided to get it for my kindle. I am going to have a look at other books this author may have written. I gave this book 5 stars, you can read my full review here.

The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson

This is the 2nd book in The Mistborn Trilogy. I love this series and even though this book is a little more political I enjoyed reading it. Brandon Sanderson is one of my favourite authors. I am hopefully going to get to Hero of Ages sometime in the next couple of months. I gave this book 5 stars and you can read my full review here.

Girl Most Likely by Max Allan Collins

41148772This was a really good book which had such a good relationship between father and daughter. I thought the mystery was a good element in the book. There are a few trigger warnings for the thought of suicide, but I really enjoyed this book due to the two main characters relationships. I gave this book 4 stars, you can read my full review here.

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
