2019, book box club

August Book Box Club

Hey Readers…

Today I am going to go through the unboxing of the #bookboxclub box for August. The theme for this month is: let the games begin.

As always the book is at the top of the box, neatly wrapped in this amazing wrapping paper and with the card on top which invites you to the clubhouse to speak to the authors on a set date.

The first thing I see is a candle by Bookworm Candles and craftsThis smells like Toffee apples and is based on the book Caraval. It smells delicious and I can’t wait to burn it

20190828_1719116002961401622949377.jpgThe next thing I see is a little patch which can be added to jackets or bags if you wanted too. This is a gorgeous little patch that I may be adding to my demin jacket at some point. It was designed by Loeff Bureau Creative

Another little amazing little item Queen Hearts earring designed by Book Box Club, these are based on Alice in Wonderland. These are cute little earrings that can be worn any day of the week.

This is a beautiful design and can be used for anything you would like it to be. It is a drawstring bag, which is something you don’t usually see in a tote back and it hugely appreciated.

The first little extra was a notebook which is high quality and something I absolutely needed. The second extra was designed by Book Club Box and is a bingo game with different reading prompts on there. This is cute and something I haven’t seen before. The last little extra was a little book which had samples in for teen fiction. This is interesting to me as it means I can try things I wouldn’t usually read and see how I like them.

The book:

The Beckoning Shadow by Katharyn Blair

Firstly, can I just say that this book is gorgeous! Under the dust jacket is white and purple, the dust jacket has a paper feel to it and the cover art is amazing. I haven’t heard of this book. I haven’t seen it anywhere on Goodreads/Booktube/Instagram. I read the brief synopsis on the card and I think it is something that I would really like.

Synopsis from the card:

When Vesper finds out she has the ability to bring people’s most terrifying fears to life, she goes on the run. Being a ‘Harbinger’ is (literally) a nightmare until she finds herself enrolled in the notorious tournament of the unravelling. With fights to the death, all-night training sessions and mysterious new allies; the stakes are high. Vesper must use all her powers if she wants to stay alive.

Overall thoughts

I love this box, I have enjoyed all the things which come in the box and have used most of the items I have received.

I can’t wait to see what I get in next months box.

I would highly recommend this box to anyone who loves reading. The customer service for this box is amazing! and I couldn’t recommend a nicer company.
