Hey Readers…
This month I am taking part in the Hogwarts House Battles readathon in September. This is a month-long readathon created by Katie.
The basics of the readathon are simple. Every page you read in September is 1 point for your team. If you complete a challenge you get an extra 50 points. There is also a group book you can read but as I don’t own this one I will not be taking part.
Here is my TBR for this readathon. I am trying to read 12 books in the month of September, which is a lot more than I usually read in a month, so wish me to luck *hides away till September ends*
Read a recommendation from a friend &&
Read a genre you wouldn’t usually pick up
As I don’t have any friends who read, I asked my husband to pick a book for this one. He doesn’t really read either but he has a selection of books he picks up occasionally.
He suggested I read Feed the Beast by Jon Parkin for prompts above. This is something he had on his reading shelf and it is also something I wouldn’t pick up myself. I have read autobiography type books but I wouldn’t ever pick up one by a footballer.
Only read this book in public
The next book is one I can only read in public. I decided on reading Eric by Terry Pratchett
Read a book with a number in the title &&
Read a book with an animal on the cover
I have added another Terry Pratchett book to my TBR. This was one of three books on my TBR which contained and number and had an animal on the cover as well. I don’t seem to have many books with animals on the cover.
Read a new-to-you book
I choose a book which I have had on my TBR for a few months, but it is still new to me as I don’t know what it is about and I really want to read it this month.
Read a book you previously put down
This is something I only recently put down, I put it down in August. I put this one down as it wasn’t a book that I could read when everything was going on around me, whilst I was on a small weekend break. Everything was distracting me so I couldn’t concentrate on the characters or the plot.
I am now going to try and read this as a type of buddy/group read to see if I can get through it a little better than the first time around. This book was given to me so I really want to give it a good try before abandoning it.
Read a predicted 5 star read &&
Read your most anticipated book
I picked up these series as my husband picked up the 1st book of the 2nd series without realizing it was a follow on series and its the best choice I have made in a long time. I love this series and I recommend fantasy readers to give this a try.
Read a book that means a lot to you
I have had this book since I was around 11. I will not let it go.
Read a book from another generation
The next one I choose as it was originally published for in the UK in 1983. As I was born in 1991 this would be a different generation for me to read
Read a hyped book
I immediately thought of this book as soon as I saw the challenge, so this had to go on my TBR
Read a Classic novel
I only have a couple of classics on my shelves that I would consider for a readathon.
Read the last book you bought
I purchased this book last with another 3 books, but as this one was the last in my cart, I will be adding this to my TBR.
That is the last of my Hogwarts House Battle readathon TBR. Are you taking part in this readathon, if you are, please leave a comment or leave a link to your TBR’s in the comments box below!
