WWW Wednesday – 22nd May 2019

Welcome to WWW Wednesday! hosted by Sam@Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses. Please, take some time to visit the other participants and see what others are reading. So, let’s get to it!

The three Ws are: What are you currently reading? What have you finished reading? What will you read next?

What are you reading?

I am still currently reading Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb and A Storm of Swords 2: Blood and Gold by George R.R Martin.

I am enjoying them both, at the time of writing this I am 67% into Assassin’s Apprentice and 34% into A Storm of Swords

I have also decided to start a kindle book, as I am enjoying using my kindle again. I did start this a few months ago but put it to the side as I wasn’t in the mood to read on my kindle. I am really enjoying it so far. I do like Brandon Sanderson’s books that I have read. I am 31% into this.

I am hoping to get some of these finished this weekend because of the bank holiday and I don’t currently have any plans.

What have you just finished?

I have recently finished two books one is Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier

I had a love-hate relationship with this book and at one point wanted to put it down for good. As I got further into the book I did really enjoy the story and the characters and I do want to carry on with this series. My review will be posted Friday, keep a look out for that.

The second book I finished was The Red Labyrinth by Meredith Tate. This book is due to be released on the 4th of June 2019. I received a copy from Netgalley in exchange for a review. My review will be posted closer to the time of release. I did really like it and I finished it in a couple of days.

I also DNF Waiting for Fitz by Spencer Hyde. This book just wasn’t for me. There were parts that just didn’t make sense in my opinion. My full thoughts on this book are posted here.

What will you read next?

I have a few choices I am read next. I am still thinking of carrying on the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb

A few other books I would like to read are:

  • The Word for World is Forest by Ursula K Le Guin
  • Romanov by Nadine Brandes
  • The Priory of the Orange Tree

what are you reading this week? What have you recently finished? Let me know in the comments below

– Happy Reading

  1. I LOVED Elantris! Though, to be fair, I’ve never read a Brandon Sanderson book yet that I haven’t loved, so … maybe that doesn’t mean as much as I think it does? xD That cover’s also so pretty, and now I’m sad that my copy has a really lame cover lol.

I want to read Priory of the Orange Tree, but it’s SO LONG (and a little daunting) and also, I was hoping my library would get it in, but that doesn’t seem likely so now I have to buy it. xD I hope you enjoy Romanov. It was a bit of a miss for me, but if you really enjoy historical fiction, you’ll probably enjoy it. I’m not that much of a fan of straight up historical fiction, and it was less on the fantasy and more on that, in my opinion. 🙂

    Here’s my WWW post.

    1. I’ve only read on book for Brandon Sanderson’s so far and I really loved it. I am likely this the more I read it and can’t wait to see where it goes.

I did start Priory of the Orange Tree but I never got very far into it and then I got distracted. I don’t mind long books it’s just a big hardback so I have to only read it at home

I do like historical fiction so I have hoping I enjoy Romanov. I find the cover so pretty!!

      Happy reading

      1. I hope the ending doesn’t disappoint you! That was one of the best parts for me. :3 I highly recommend Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson, if you’re looking for more of his books. Lightsong is easily one of my favorite characters, and it has a talking sword! Called Nightblood. Which is delightful and snarky, as talking swords should be.

That’s why I try to get ebooks now of larger books. I hate toting around really big tomes (especially hardbacks), so they’re harder for me to read.

It definitely is! Nadine Brandes has such pretty covers. I really love the cover for Fawkes, too.

      2. Thank you, I’ll be sure to check that out. I need to figure out how to get through his backlog of books! I usually get ebooks but the cover was stunning. I haven’t seen the cover for Fawkes, I will run off now to have a look

      3. Ahhh yeah, when you figure that out, let me know. xD As much as I love Sanderson, I’m still way behind on his books. Hubby keeps nagging me to read Mistborn, and I really do need to. I’m just being lazy lol. Sometimes squeezing in a series is harder than a single book, because I want to read them all in succession, and when do I have the time?!

      4. I’ve read the 1st Mistborn book but I didn’t carry on the series I feel like I need to re-read to carry on as it’s been to long. I have seen so much conflicting thoughts on where to start but I’ll keep trying to figure it out 😂

      5. I read half the first book and never finished, so I’ll require a re-read, too. xD I think I’ll probably try to borrow the Kindle books from the library this time, though. We’ve got just the generic mass market paperbacks, but I hate carrying those around, and I’m not a fan of the font, so I’m thinking a Kindle version might be easier.

  2. I really need to continue in the farseer trilogy! I’m also hoping on reading Romanov soon!
I’m currently reading the three musketeers and Midsummer’s mayhem!
